Network changes will make Internet services unavailable to and from the University on Saturday, July 27, starting at 7 a.m. and lasting perhaps a few hours, advises Information Technology Services.

Outages will encompass all network services — websites and email, UWinsite, Blackboard.

Both wired and wireless networks will be affected across the entire campus, including downtown sites. In addition, the downtown campus will lose network connectivity to the main campus during this time. Telephone calls to these buildings will not be available, but there will be a limited ability to call out.

The Research Data Centre in the Leddy Library will temporarily disconnect from its ORION connection until restored during the maintenance window.

IT Services anticipates that connectivity will be restored well before the end of the maintenance window at noon.

A June 25 class in Website Basic Training offered free to faculty and staff will be the last session before fall semester, advises instructor Rob Aitkens.

Web development team lead in Information Technology Services, he will teach the basics of the Drupal content management system: University and legislative guidelines for posting content, as well as how to create pages and events, upload graphics, and use menus and blocks.

The training is required for all employees responsible for maintaining UWindsor websites and is valuable for those with little previous experience with the system, for those upgrading their sites from version 6 to 7, or as a refresher. It will run 1:30 to 4 p.m. in G101, Leddy Library. Registration is required through this online form.

Organizational information is now available in Office 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, etc.) for faculty and staff members.  The information is taken from the official Human Resourece data sources. This information is only avalable to on-campus users.The location and functionality of this information depends on the app being used.

If you click on the avatar photo of a sender (or their intiials), there is now an Organization section that will show who they report to.

If you are viewing a calendar in Outllook, you will now have Team calendars that comprise of people that report to the same person you do, or a team of people that report to you.
