Kola Babarinde Ph.D is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy and Sociology of Education in the Department of Teacher Education, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He has been in higher education for over two decades teaching courses in Philosophy and Sociology of Education. He was a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership Studies, College of Education, University of Iowa, Iowa City, USA between October and December 2009. He has attended academic conferences in Nigeria, USA and Europe. He is a member of Philosophy of Education Association of Nigeria (PEAN), International Cultic Studies Association (ICSA) and Professional and Organisational Development Network (POD) of USA. He was Acting Head of Department of Teacher Education, University of Ibadan, Nigeria October 2006 till September 2008. His scholarly interests include Philosophical Analysis, Philosophical Research Methods in Education, Pedagogy of Higher Education and Deviance, Crime and Social Control in Sociology of Education. He is currently working on Reflective Teaching. He led a team of scholars to pioneer faculty development programme at the University of Ibadan, led several workshops in pedagogy for faculty in different disciplines in his university and as guests in several others. Kola was recently a Visiting Scholar to University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria April 2011 till May 2012. He is a professionally Registered Teacher of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and is currently, Pioneer Director, Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
