Research and Inquiry

The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) can be understood as “the systematic study of teaching and learning, using established or validated criteria of scholarship, to understand how teaching (beliefs, behaviours, attitudes, and values) can maximize learning, and/or develop a more accurate understanding of learning, resulting in products that are publicly shared for critique and use by an appropriate community” (Potter & Kustra, 2011).

The CTL researches, collaborates and consults on, and provides funding for SoTL-related that aim to explore, interrogate, and/or enhance teaching practice, curricular design, student learning, educational leadership, and more. This includes one-on-one consultations, resources and dissemination opportunities, grants, and courses and workshops.
