The UwinCARD is issued to you as part of the items to which you are entitled as a member of the University of Windsor community, under the following terms and conditions of use. Please read all terms and conditions as these constitute legal obligations between you and the University of Windsor.
Each person must present government issued photo identification to receive a UwinCARD. Your UwinCARD is non-transferable. It may be used solely by you for the purposes that it was issued. Your UwinCARD is the property of the University of Windsor. It may be cancelled or revoked by the University at any time and must be returned to the UwinCARD Office upon request.
If your UwinCARD is lost or stolen, you must notify the UwinCARD Office in order to permit its cancellation. Such notification must be made by visiting the UwinCARD Office in person or by calling the UwinCARD Office at 519-253-3000 ext. UWIN (8946) during office hours.
UwinCARDs which are placed on hold should be cancelled with the UwinCARD Office at the student’s first opportunity.
Until such notification has been received, you will be responsible for all uses of your UwinCARD, whether or not such use is authorized by you. There is a replacement fee for lost or stolen cards.
You may use your UwinCARD as a debit card where accepted, provided funds are available in your account. Specific purpose UwinCARD accounts may be accessed by you in accordance with the restrictions applicable to such accounts. The UwinCARD is a debit card only and does not provide credit arrangements.
You are responsible for use of the UwinCARD. Debits resulting from your failure to properly utilize the UwinCARD are your responsibility as the cardholder. The University is not responsible for any loss, inconvenience, or embarrassment to you or to others arising as a result of lack of funds in your account.
The University will debit your account in accordance with transactions authorized through the use of your UwinCARD or as permitted under these terms.
Refunds on accounts will be made only where the functions of your UwinCARD is cancelled or rendered inactive by the UwinCARD Office. Refunds on specific purpose accounts are subject to the restrictions applicable on those accounts. Reactivation of UwinCARD functions will be allowed only after the replacement fee is paid in full.
If your UwinCARD has no activity for a period of two (2) years, the same will be deactivated by the University and any balance of funds shall become the property of the University. Cash withdrawals may be requested between May 15 and September 15. There is a $ 25 administrative fee to process your request.
The UwinCARD Office creates and collects personal information under the authority of the University of Windsor Act and in a manner that is consistent with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the “Act”).
This information is collected for the purposes of producing the official personal identification card for the University of Windsor and for administering all services associated with the UwinCARD. UwinCARD services include but are not limited to the following:
- All services listed in the UwinCARD Brochure and on the UwinCARD Website
- Validation for services
Information that is gathered for the above purposes will be protected and used in compliance with the Act..

The University has the right to amend these terms by posting or displaying such amendments in the UwinCARD Office, and from the time of such posting or display, you shall be bound by such amendments.
By accepting a UwinCARD, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the Cardholder’s Agreement.
