Conditional and Alternate Offers of Admission

1. Conditional Offers of Admission:

Conditional Offers of Admission are often provided when studies are in progress or when documentation submitted by the applicant is considered unofficial or incomplete.

To review your final admission condition(s), please refer to your Offer Letter, available through UWinsite Student.

Students coming directly from high school must have successfully completed the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent, if from outside of Ontario) with a minimum 70% overall average of six Grade 12 U or M courses, including ENG4U.

Program-specific requirements for maintaining your conditional offer of admission are available here:

If you have an English Language Proficiency requirement on your To Do List, please review the Policy on English Language Proficiency Requirement (Undergraduate and Graduate) to determine if you are exempt.

Students must satisfy the conditions specified in their Offer Letter and To Do List to maintain admission to the University of Windsor.  If you need to upgrade courses to retain your Offer of Admission (i.e. through summer school, virtual school, etc.) final official grades for any additional courses taken must be received by the Office of the Registrar by August 31, 2025, for admission to the Fall 2025 term.

2. Alternate Offers of Admission:

You may have received a conditional Offer of Admission to programs which are related, but different from those that you applied to – these are Alternate Offers.

To give you options to consider, we often provide Alternate Offers of Admission when students don’t yet qualify for their preferred programs.   Rest assured that we will continue to assess your applications to all program choices as we receive new information (i.e. mid-term grades from 2nd semester, night school and virtual course grades) and as space permits.

In fact, you may find that you receive several offers, all of which open up possibilities.  There is no down-side to considering or accepting these additional options while you wait for consideration of your preferred choice.

For more information on your program options, please contact our Recruitment team to get the conversation going.  If you have questions about your admission status, please contact Admissions and Records.
