UWinsite Student Training for Faculty and Staff

Pre-Go Live Training

To assist with the transition to UWinsite Student, training sessions for faculty and staff were offered during the five weeks before the launch of UWinsite Student on November 26. Training took place Monday, October 22 – Friday, November 23.

During this pre-go live training period, more than 90 unique courses were offered – many multiple times. These courses covered all UWinsite Student modules including Student Records, Financial Aid, Student Financials, Academic Advisement, Campus Community, and Student Admissions.

To help the campus community navigate UWinsite Student training, role-based learning paths were identified for each faculty or staff member who will regularly interact with UWinsite Student in some way. These learning paths outline the required courses each role requires and the sequence in which the courses need to be taken. Learning paths were issued with training invitations in early October.

Introductory Courses

Several lecture and demonstration style courses are available online. These courses offer introductory, foundational information about UWinsite Student, its functions and associated business processes. They are intended to provide users with general context and a baseline understanding of the system.

Viewing the introductory courses outlined on their learning paths is strongly recommended for all UWinsite Student users. Users invited to hands-on training sessions should strive to view their introductory courses prior to their in-class sessions as a preparatory step.

Registration is not required for the web-based, introductory courses and they can be viewed at your convenience. Just log in here with your UWin ID and password. The following web-based courses are available:

Post-Go Live Training

The campus community’s UWinsite Student training needs will be re-assessed after go live. A training plan will then be developed to continue supporting the adoption of the new platform on campus.
