Call for Applications - Teaching Leadership Chair – Educational Leadership
The Teaching Leadership Chair – Educational Leadership will devote their service and elements of their research activities to launch strategic and intentional programming designed to support the development of educational leaders at the University of Windsor, and build strong collaborative networks among educators. Initiatives can include the development of communities of practice, mentorship programs, retreats, symposia, courses, and more.
Educational leadership in the context of this award includes formal and/or informal leaders who are working to lead significant and sustained initiatives to enhance the teaching and learning culture and context at the University.
Eligibility
- Mid-Career or senior faculty members and administrators (including learning specialists and sessional lecturers)
Criteria
- Relevant leadership activities including the significance of the applicant’s role
- Strong record of sustained educational leadership
- Evidence of impact of leadership at the Faculty, institutional, national, or international level
- Evidence of collaborative relationships
Time Commitment/Term
- Expected start date: January 2024
- Two years, renewable once in sequence (possible to return after at least one term break)
- The Chair should expect to allocate 10-16 hours per week or approximately 1.5-2 days a week to this work
Recompense
- Funding in the amount of $20,000, which can be used for:
- Two course releases, or
- Research grant/project funds, or
- One course release, and the remaining amount for research grant/project funds.
Application Materials
- Educational Leadership Statement (1 page max.): What is your approach to educational leadership? What do you believe about leading educational change? How do you believe educational leadership is best enacted in post-secondary institutions?
- Summary of Educational Leadership Initiative (5 pages max.): Select a few initiatives you would like highlight, and include:
- Description of initiative (e.g., curriculum/program development, programs, teaching innovations, events, etc.)
- Your role (e.g., lead, collaborator, consultant, etc.).
- Level of Impact: Who was impacted by this initiative? (e.g., department, institution, society groups, etc.)
- Indicators or Evidence: Include any indicators of impact (e.g., comments, testimonials, letters, observed changes, SoTL publications or presentations, etc.)
- A brief plan (one page max.) for role as the Teaching Leadership Chair – Educational Leadership (including your plan for funding)
- CV
- Letters of reference relating to educational leadership (2-3 letters max.)

- CTL Representative
- Two faculty/educational leaders
- One student representative
