Dr. Mohsan Beg (he/him)

Mohsan Beg

Dr. Mohsan Beg is a licensed clinical psychologist and has been the director of the Student Counselling Centre at the University of Windsor for the last 12 years. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Toronto. Upon graduating, Dr. Beg worked for two years as a member of a mobile crisis team providing front-line intervention for psychiatric emergencies in Toronto. He completed his Master’s and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Windsor. Dr. Beg has worked in a wide variety of clinical settings including: a children’s mental health facility; in the emergency room of Detroit Receiving Hospital providing trauma counselling; the forensics unit of the former Clarke Institute of Psychiatry; and at the University Of Indiana School Of Medicine. Dr. Beg's clinical interests are in the area of mental health of postsecondary students, anxiety and mood disorders, and learning disabilities. Dr. Beg is also an active member of the community having served on the boards of the Windsor Essex Children’s Aid Society and Windsor Family Health Team and presenting on a variety of mental health topics both on and off campus.

Dr. Lindsey Jaber (she/her)

Lindsey Jaber

Dr. Lindsey Jaber, C.Psych., is the Associate Dean of Teacher Education and an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Windsor. She is a registered School, Clinical, and Counselling Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. With a research background in mental health and extensive practical experience in providing clinical, counselling, and school psychology services to children, adolescents, and adults, she operates through an innovative scientist-practitioner-educator framework which informs her research, work with clients, clinical and research supervision, and teaching in an iterative and integrated cycle. She passionately advocates for the mental health and wellness of everyone—students, educators, staff, leadership—across K-12 and post-secondary settings. 

Dr. Sebastian Gyamfi (he/him)

Sebastian Gyamfi

Dr. Sebastian Gyamfi is a Graduate Faculty and Assistant Professor at the University of Windsor. His research aims to generate evidence for best practice initiatives in mental health care while driving social change. Dr. Gyamfi's research focuses on mental health promotion among vulnerable populations and addresses structural violence, health equity, housing and homelessness, community integration, and social inclusion. Professor Gyamfi has played a pivotal role in advancing mental healthcare in both Ghana and Canada through his academic work. He has been a resource person for the Ghana College of Nursing and Midwifery (GCNM) and Western University, contributing to the development of modules related to addiction, child psychiatry, mental illness stigma, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). Currently, he is involved in graduate teaching and the development of graduate curricula for the Faculty of Nursing.

Dr. Gyamfi's research is not limited to one aspect of mental health. He is currently delving into new paradigms regarding the theoretical perspectives of religiocultural beliefs and structural violence, exploring how these concepts influence stigma perceptions and appraisal among individuals with mental illness. His work also involves identifying key predictors of stigma among marginalized individuals and developing strategies to address the complex issues surrounding mental health to promote well-being, social equity, and inclusion for these individuals. Looking ahead, Professor Gyamfi's medium to long-term goal is to foster a collaborative environment with other experts in the field of mental health and stigma. His vision is to develop innovative solutions that address contemporary stigma and the injustices that marginalized persons face within the social space.

Dr. Venus Olla (she/her)

Venus Olla

Dr. Venus Olla is a Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Venus completed her training as a Psychoanalytical Psychotherapist with the Canadian Institute of Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy (CICAPP) in Toronto. She has her Doctorate in Education from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.

Venus’ areas of focus include mood disorders, anxiety, traumas including racial trauma, and abuse. She utilizes a psychodynamic approach, developing a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients to assist them on their journeys of healing.

Dr. Evelina Rog (she/her)

Evelina Rog

Dr. Evelina Rog is an executive and systemic team coach, award winning executive educator, and an expert in vertical leadership development. She leads a thriving private practice partnering with senior leaders and founders and their leadership teams to transform the way they lead, team, and navigate through complex human and organizational challenges. Evelina integrates cutting-edge science and practice to tackle the areas that are most critical to sustainable success and business growth, yet most difficult to change. Throughout her career, Evelina has partnered with hundreds of clients in private, public and not-for-profit sector organizations to diagnose, design and deliver integrated interventions at the individual, team, and organizational level. She is known for her engaging, authentic, collaborative, and compassionate style and fostering high trust relationships that disarm people’s natural defenses so they can engage in deep development and sustain the change. Prior to starting her private practice, Evelina was a learning and organizational development practitioner at the University of Guelph, where she also served as Faculty in the Lang Masters in Leadership program, teaching an intensive 7-day leadership development program that garnered a reputation as being “transformational.” Evelina has also served as a team coaching SME and global co-leader for the International Coaching Federation’s Team and Group Coaching Community of Practice.

Dr. Mika Tomac (she/her)

Mika Tomac

Dr. Mika Tomac is a Registered Nurse Psychotherapist under the College of Nurses of Ontario as well as a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She holds a BScN as well as a PhD. Mika has been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and has been delivering psychotherapy for over 20 years. Mika has worked in both the hospital setting as well as the jail setting dealing with complex and chronic mental health issues. She is certified in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) through McMaster University’s Clinical Behavioral Sciences Program. She has intensive trauma training through the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute having completed Level 1 and Level 2, and she has completed IFS training through IFS.CA and Adler College qualifying her as an IFS Informed Therapist. Moreover, Mika also provides supervision for students engaged in IFS training through IFS.CA as well as providing consultations for practitioners in the community. Mika also works in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Windsor as a sessional instructor. Aside from her work with the University of Windsor and IFS.CA, Mika has a busy private practice in the community where she primarily works with complex chronic trauma.
