About Lancer Gaming
Lancer Gaming is the home of Esports at the University of Windsor. The program competes against hundreds of other universities and colleges across North America in three different online games. These games include Valorant and League of Legends developed by Riot Games along with Rocket League developed by Psyonix.
There are 18 student-competitors playing on these three teams from various faculties across campus including Science, Arts, Human Kinetics, and Engineering. The program also provides ten student-staff positions that allow for valuable experience at various levels in the emerging industry of Esports. We’re committed to offering a place for high-performing Esports athletes to showcase their skills, as well as an opportunity for students to unwind and relieve stress. We’re committed to helping students achieve excellence in all aspects of their lives.
Lancer Gaming is proud to be a member of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE). NACE organizes competitions through intercollegiate esports while serving as a governing body for its members. Lancer Gaming will also be competing in other competitive leagues and tournaments for its teams to participate through the 2023-2024 season and beyond. These include Collegiate Valorant (CVAL), Collegiate League of Legends (CLoL), Collegiate Rocket League (CRL), and NECC.
Lancer Gaming is funded through the Office of Student Experience (OSE) and further supported by the Student Success & Leadership Centre (SSLC). The program is also supported and funded through Ignite Work Study for our student staff and Student Awards to support our players.
