Research Integrity

The University of Windsor is committed to the safe and ethical conduct of research. Research integrity is overseen by three key bodies on campus: the Office of Research Ethics, the Animal Care Committee and the Research Safety Committee. These bodies ensure compliance with key legislative and ethical frameworks and external oversight bodies. All funded and unfunded research that involves any of the following must be cleared before work can begin:

  • Human participants, their data or their tissues
  • Animal subjects
  • Biohazardous materials
  • Radioactive materials
  • Lasers and x-rays
  • Controlled goods or substances
  • Cannabis

If your project is funded, your funds will be placed on hold until a clearance or permit has been confirmed.
