The Sheila Cameron Monthly Research Forums
The Monthly Research Forums at the Faculty of Nursing are named after the late Dr. Sheila Cameron in recognition of her many contributions to the Faculty of Nursing and the nursing community at large. Dr Cameron was the former director of the School of Nursing (1985-1995) and former Dean of Graduate Studies and Research (1996-2005) at the University of Windsor. She was designated as a Professor Emerita upon her retirement in the summer 2005. She completed her early nursing education in Scotland and England before coming to Canada in 1964. Her education continued at McMaster University (BA), the University of Detroit (MA, Nsg Ed) and Wayne State University (EdD). She was the first woman scholar to receive the title of University Professor in 1997. Her research was funded by a range of external agencies in Canada, and she published extensively in National and International Nursing Journals for over 30 years. During her long service at the University of Windsor, Dr. Cameron left a significant impact on many people’s professional and personal growth.
