About the Conference

Racism negatively impacts the health outcomes of First Nation, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) Peoples and creates barriers to equitable healthcare. High-profile cases like the deaths of Brian Sinclair and Joyce Echaquan highlight the urgent need to address racism in healthcare. To support healthcare providers in combating racism, the "CPR RACISM" guide, which parallels cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in its life-saving potential, offers a practical, visual tool to help nurses and nursing students effectively intervene when they witness racism in healthcare settings. The CPR RACISM guide aims to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary skills to disrupt and dismantle racism, ultimately saving lives.
