Full single sign-on (SSO)
With single sign-on (SSO) enabled resources at UWindsor, a single authentication (logging in to your computer) will provide access to many campus systems including:
- Brightspace
- Microsoft 365 Apps (Office 365)
- myUWinfo
- UWinsite Finance
- UWinsite Student
- and more
Additional systems will be added over time. One-step sign in is available for UWindsor faculty and staff who are using Windows 10 or 11 on a centrally managed device. If your device has been enrolled in the UWindsor device management system (Intune MDM), this is likely you.
Additional points:
- If you are using Firefox as your primary web browser, there is an additional setting that needs to be made. Please read this knowledge base article for details.
- If you run your browser(s) in private mode, one-step sign in will not work fully.
Logging into your device
If your device (computer, laptop, tablet, phone) is SSO-enabled, you will need to enter (or select) your UWinID@uwindsor.ca including the “@uwindsor.ca” and its associated UWin Account password to sign in. As a faculty or staff member, remember to enter your official UWindsor email address (ex. wlancer@uwindsor.ca) and not your email alias (ex: Winston.Lancer@uwindsor.ca). Once you have logged into your device you will able to access the systems mentioned above without having to enter your credentials again, in most scenarios.
Protect your accounts
It is critically important that you lock, sign out or shut down your device when it is not in use. Failing to do so could expose your accounts to others. This is particularly crucial on public or shared computers such as in classrooms or computer labs.
