Join Us for EDID Week 2025!

The Office of the Vice-President, People, Equity, and Inclusion is hosting Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, & Decolonization (EDID) Week 2025 next week (Monday, March 17)! This week-long event features a variety of presentations, workshops, and panel discussions designed to foster meaningful conversations and engagement on key EDID topics. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to explore the sessions and participate in discussions that promote inclusivity, equity, and decolonization in our academic and professional communities.

Join us for a critical conversation on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM at SoCA Armouries (353 Freedom Way, Downtown Windsor), as we explore the role of colonial fantasies in shaping power, violence, and resistance.

Our speakers will examine how colonial projects justify domination through doublespeak—distorting reality to obscure oppression. From the erasure of historical memory to the strategic use of terms like "rebuilding" and "peace plans," we will discuss how these narratives sustain empire while suppressing resistance. We will also highlight tangible ways people are breaking from these fantasies through student-led resistance, abolitionist strategies, and other organized movements.
