For new employees, benefits become effective the first of the month following the completion of the probationary period.
Health & Dental
Health and dental benefits are provided through Green Shield. These benefits are 100% employer paid.

Out of Province / Country Travel Coverage
Out of province hospital and medical services coverage is provided through Green Shield to employees who meet the Canadian residency requirements.
Short & Long Term Disability Benefits
In the event that you are not able to work, the university provides a short term disability benefit as well as an employee paid long-term disability benefit. Please refer to your Collective Agreement for details.
Life Insurance & Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)
The benefit program includes employer paid life insurance and AD&D insurance. Please refer to your Collective Agreement for details. These insurances are provided by Sun Life of Canada.
Employees are entitled to purchase optional life insurance as well as optional AD&D insurance. Please contact the Benefits Administration staff at extension 2049 for details.
Beneficiary designation are an important component of your life and AD&D coverage and can often go out of date. Please ensure that we have your most update beneficiary information.
Tuition Remission Benefit
The University provides a generous tuition remission benefit that is highly valued by our employees.
