Windsor-Essex Pride Parade and Festival August 2023
We would like to thank all who attended the parade and the festival tent.
Tie Dye Event in partnership with Green Bean Cafe: Tuesday August 8th 1pm-3pm
In partnership with the Green Bean Cafe (and with support from the University Community Church), UWinPride held their first-ever tie-dying event. Plain, white, UWinPride t-shirts were made available to approximately 20 attendees at the event, some of whom then wore their new tie-dye to the Pride Parade on August 13th!

This event was hosted at the University of Windsor's School of Creative Arts, in partnership with Trans Wellness Ontario, the University of Windsor's Women & Gender Studies in the School of Social Work, Bystander Initiative, and Pride Committee. Raising the Progress Pride Flag in 2022
In 2022, we welcomed Fei Qin to raise the flag outside of Chrysler Hall. It was our most well-attended flag-raising event to date, and the UWin Pride Committee distributed some swag such as stickers and pencils. Check out the CBC article, featuring interviews with Joyceln Lorito and Fei Qin.
Trans Day of Rememberance in November 2021
In another step towards progress, the UWin Pride Committee, in partnership with Trans Wellness Ontario, raised the Trans Flag over campus in observance of Trans Day of Remembrance. The event drew campus and community members alike, with speeches from Joyceln Lorito, Janet MacIsaac, Sydney Brouillard-Coyle, and Victoria Pedri.
Raising the Progress Pride Flag in August 2021
In 2021, the pride flag was raised by Ashlyne O'Neil, a Learning Specialist in the Office of Open Learning and member of the Pride Committee. The event was live streamed and attended by allies from various units on campus, including the UWSA and the Office of Student Experience.
Raising the Progress Pride Flag 2020
Congratulations to the team who got our progress pride flag raised over campus for the first time. To commemorate the occasion, and the start of Pride Week in Windsor, a small group of community members gathered outside of Chrysler Hall to witness the flag flying in all of its glory.

Our inaugural Pride Parade! Thanks to the committee who quickly helped put together a float, and all the walkers who joined us! We were even joined by Winston and the Wellness-saurus.
