Abstract:

This presentation delves into Nigeria's rich cultural heritage, focusing on the Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo ethnic groups. We'll explore their traditions, art, attire, and religious practices, highlighting the country's diversity.

Experience the Yoruba New Year celebration, Odun Ifa, and traditional dances that unite communities. Using Lagos as a case study, we'll showcase its cultural fusion through markets, nightlife, and the Lagos Carnival. We'll also highlight other festivals and their roles in the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria.

We'll discuss the major religions—Christianity, Islam, and indigenous beliefs—and their influence on Nigerian life. Finally, we'll tour historical sites like Benin, Kano's ancient walls, and Osun-Osogbo's sacred groves.
