July 16, 2018: Congratulations to Nursing Sessional Instructors Heather Sweet and Kim Dobson, who successfully passed the Canadian Certified Clinical Instructor Exam to obtain their Canadian Certified Clinical Instructor (CCCI) designation!

The Canadian Clinical Instructor Certification recognizes knowledge and expertise related to the clinical instructor's role in monitoring and evaluating students in clinical settings, developing good patient assignments, mentoring and coaching students, and creating a positive learning environment for students. It communicates to institutions, students, and the community that the clinical instructor has achieved and maintains a high standard in this area of nursing practice.

June 28, 2018: The Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety (CBPPS) recently recognized Susan Dennison as a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS). Susan is one of nine CPPSs in Canada.

“Earning this credential attests to Susan’s professional competency in patient safety science and application,” said Tejal K. Gandhi, MD, MPH, CPPS, President, CBPPS. “This achievement demonstrates her expertise in this critical discipline and positions her among those committed to and leading patient safety work.”

February 10, 2018: Ancillary Academic Staff - Experiential Learning Specialist Judy Bornais is the recipient of a 2018 3M National Teaching Fellow. The 3M National Teaching Fellowship was created in 1986 by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education to recognize exceptional teachers in post-secondary education.
