Smit, Xavier and Aroca Recognized

Professor Valarie Waboose gave a presentation at The Ontario Indigenous Justice Gathering October 12 - 14 in Niagara Falls, Ontario entitiled "Reconciliation and Aboriginal Child Welfare in Canada."

On 16-17 June, Dr. Anneke Smit participated as an invited speaker in the conference “Restitution of Land and Territorial Rights in the Context of the Transition to Peace” at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota.  Dr. Smit presented her research on the legal and social position of secondary occupiers of land and housing during processes of post-conflict land restitution.  She reflected on possible lessons for Colombia’s nascent restitution process. 

This special issue of the Third World Quarterly grew out of the 2015 "Third World Approaches to International Law Conference" (Egypt) and two writing workshops (Ireland & Canada) that Professor Xavier co-organized. These events joined a global network of scholars and practitioners in international law from 33 countries interested in studying the complex and evolving relationships between the Global South & North. 

Dual JD Alumnus Ingrid Minott was interviewed and featured in today's Globe and Mail. Ms. Minott,  a lawyer with Deloitte LLP in Toronto and a member of the bar in New York State, was quoted saying, "Keep an open mind and accept opportunities’

Clementa Stan new International I.P. Clinic Program Coordinator

Windsor Law Alum, Sarah Clarke, Principal, Clarke Child & Family Law Toronto, has been named a Top 25 Most Influential 2016 - Criminal/Human-Rights - by Canadian Lawyer. 

Professor Ocheje will also be participating in a seminar hosted by the Commonwealth Secretariat for Anti-Corruption Agencies in Nigeria.

Discussions explored ways in which economic integration among the US, Canada and Mexico can strengthen the US economy and create economic opportunity across the North American continent.
