The ISC is very excited to welcome you to Canada, but we also know that the first few days can be very challenging as you are in a new environment and far away from home. For that reason, the ISC Team created the TO DO LIST to make it easier for you to remember what needs to be done after you arrive. You can download the list and the ISC Student Handbook and Resource Guide on your computer. All the documents are provided below.
*Using your UWindsor email address, the email should include your full name, student ID number and your arrival date and time.
* If applicable, you can apply for a refund for health insurance fees paid while you were outside of Canada by completing the survey form. You must do this within the first 14 days of arrival

Complete the Soft-Landing Form and attend a Soft-Landing session

Send a copy of your study permit to The International Students Centre (ISC)
- Scan or take a colour photo of your Canadian Study Permit
- Using your UWindsor email account send a message to isc@uwindsor.ca and attach the scan or photo of your Canadian Study Permit
- For the subject line of the email put Study Permit (+ your student number)
- In the body of the message include your full name, student number, major (your program)

Attend International Student Orientation

Arrange to get your UWindsor Student Card

Make sure to use your UWindsor email in correspondence with professors and offices at UWindsor

Apply for your Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN) *this is optional
* You are not permitted to start working until after your classes start, and you are restricted in the number of hours that you can work. See the ISC website for more information or contact the International Student Advisors (intladvisors@uwindsor.ca)

Check the Wellness Resources if you are feeling stressed or homesick

Once you know where you are going to be staying for the semester you need to UPDATE your Canadian address and contact information in the University’s UWinsite system
* This is something that you should do every time you move, change your phone number, etc.
