Abstract: 

The workshop on IoT Testing provides a concise overview of the testing challenges associated with the growing number of IoT devices. Participants will learn about key testing methods, and tools for IoT devices in the industry. The workshop introducing IoT testing concepts and goals, along with a framework presentation that achieves such goals.

 

Workshop Outline:

This workshop covers IoT testing fundamentals, key terms, and the importance of IoT testing. It addresses the challenges and threats in IoT testing, such as diverse ecosystems and scalability issues. Testing methods will be introduced and a live framework will be presented to better grasp the introduced concepts.

 

Prerequisites:

●        Basic Understanding of IoT: Familiarity with IoT concepts, devices, and their network interactions.

●        Fundamental Knowledge of testing: Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and common threats.

 

Biography:

 Salma Aly, the founder and CEO of BlinkTech Solutions and a PhD student at the University of Windsor. Her research interests are Generative AI, IoT testing, and cybersecurity. She received her M.Sc. in computer science from The American University in Cairo, Egypt. Her master's were focused on artificial intelligence (AI). Salma started working in the industry after she received her bachelor’s. She worked as an intelligent automation engineer, Python developer and digital marketing data analyst.
