The University of Windsor swept this year’s Mayor’s Youth Leadership Award.
Kristy McLean says she was “very honoured” to receive a Youth Leadership Award from Windsor’s mayor during a riverfront celebration of the 121st anniversary of the city’s founding, May 20.
“I am very appreciative to be recognized for contributing to the quality of life and standard of living of our community,” says McLean, just finished her third year of studies at the Odette School of Business and just beginning a term as president of its Enactus chapter.
The relationship between post-secondary institutions and their host communities is the subject of a symposium of the Town and Gown Association of Ontario, in Windsor from May 12 to 14.
The symposium, entitled “Bridging our Future,” is sponsored by the City of Windsor, in partnership with the University of Windsor, St. Clair College, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island and the Windsor Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association.
