Flu clinics on the University of Windsor campus November 21 and 22 did a brisk business, administering the vaccine free to Ontario residents.
“Our numbers overall are up this year in comparison to previous years,” said Judi Wilson, health promotion nurse in Student Health Services.
She said the Windsor Essex County Health Unit offers the mobile clinics to make it more convenient for people to get vaccinated: “We try to go all around the community and the county and hit all the major areas.”
The Odette School of Business has taken a large role in the Windsor International Film Festival again this year with the help of professor Vincent Georgie.
This will be the fourth year he has involved students in the festival and with 100 volunteers, it will be the biggest effort yet.
“I have had students work as much as 100 hours and take time off of work because they love it so much,” said Georgie.
When Lancer fans enter the St. Denis fieldhouse Friday for the opening of basketball season, they’ll find a welcome upgrade: all-new seating.
The old wooden bleachers were in dire need of an upgrade, according to Mike Havey, the university’ associate athletic director.
“It was time,” he says. “The bleachers have been there since the building opened in 1981 and they do not meet the standard of today.”
