Abstract: This workshop introduces Salesforce, a leading Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform used by many industries, including the banking sector. Covers Salesforce fundamentals, key features, and practical applications with a unique hands-on activity where participants will create a custom application in Salesforce. Additionally, we will touch upon Tableau, a powerful BI tool integrated with Salesforce, demonstrating its significance in data analysis and visualization.
 
Workshop Outline:
  • Introduction to Salesforce – Overview and Key Features, Salesforce Products: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud
  • Salesforce Ecosystem – AppExchange, Trailhead, Salesforce Community
  • Salesforce User Interface – Home Page, Navigation Bar, Record Pages
  • Customization and Configuration – Custom Objects, Fields and Relationships, Page Layouts, Validation Rules
  • Automation with Salesforce – Workflow Rules, Process Builder, Flow, Apex Trigger
  • Integrations – APIs (REST and SOAP), AppExchange Integrations, Third-Party Integrations
  • Reporting and Dashboards – Reports Dashboards, Custom Report Types
  • Case Study – Real-world example of Salesforce implementation
  • Hands-On Activity: Build an application in 5 minutes with timer count – Step-by-step guide to create a simple application in Salesforce
  • Introduction to Tableau, AI+ Analytics – Overview of Tableau, Integration with Salesforce
  • Use cases in banking and other industries

Prerequisites:
Basic understanding of CRM concepts and Database. Salesforce experience is not required.
 
Biography:
Aamani Salehundam is a MAC program student at the University of Windsor with three years of experience as a Salesforce Developer. She was also a Trailblazer Community Representative at BTech, where she took Salesforce sessions for 500+ students in person and online. Aamani has a deep understanding of Salesforce’s capabilities and practical applications; Aamani is very passionate about sharing knowledge and helping others leverage Salesforce to enhance their business processes, which also helps student enhance their resumes with a valuable new skill, which can be advantageous during interviews and serve as an additional qualification.

  3. Creating Custom Objects
  4. Defining Fields
  5. Creating a Tab
  6. Adding the Custom Objects to an App
