WINDSOR, Ont. — Leadership from the University of Windsor and surrounding municipalities came together Wednesday, May 24 for the inaugural University of Windsor Mayors and CAOs Forum, an event aimed at enhancing municipal and community networks, expanding partnership opportunities, supporting talent development and student experiential learning, and identifying potential directions for collaborative regional problem-solving.

The five-year Aspire strategic plan, the result of more than 90 hours of consultations with on and off-campus communities, was a central inspiration for the event.

WINDSOR, Ont. — President Robert Gordon has announced the appointment of Marian Gayed as the University of Windsor’s next associate vice-president external, effective June 29, 2023.

Reporting to the President and Vice-Chancellor, Gayed will oversee the departments of Alumni and Donor Communications, Advancement, and Public Affairs and Communications.

The University of Windsor will confer degrees on 5,304 graduating students during 11 sessions of the University’s 119th Convocation ceremonies May 30 through June 2 at the Toldo Lancer Centre. 

The University will also award honorary degrees to four individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of athletics and advocacy, law and politics, education and Indigeneity, and youth empowerment and mobilization. 

Receiving honorary degrees are: Danielle Campo McLeod, Joseph Comartin, Cheryl Perera, and Myrna Kicknosway.

(Windsor, Ont. — May 11, 2023) Get ready to be transported into a vibrant and energetic celebration of music, dance and community at the second annual Alumni and Student Pow Wow.

Running from May 11 through to May 13 at the Toldo Lancer Centre, the event is co-hosted by The University of Windsor Aboriginal Education Centre and St. Clair College’s Indigenous Student Services.

"This event is a celebration of the resilience and strength of Indigenous cultures and traditions,” said Bev Jacobs, University of Windsor Senior Advisor to the President on Indigenous Relations and Outreach.
