(Windsor, ON, Wednesday, January 4, 2023) – More than $1.77 million in funding will be coming to the University of Windsor to support its leadership of the Real-Time Aquatic Ecosystem Observation Network (RAEON), a Canada Foundation for Innovation-funded network focused on the Great Lakes.

The funding is part of CFI’s Major Science Initiatives award of $15.25 million to a collaborative freshwater observational research network known as the Global Water Futures Observatories (GWFO).

(Windsor, ON, Tuesday, December 13, 2022) – Paralympic gold medalist Danielle Campo McLeod, a 2004 graduate of the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, will receive an honorary doctorate during the institution’s spring Convocation ceremonies the University announced last evening.

(Windsor, ON, Friday, December 9, 2022) – An industrial partnership between PROTO Manufacturing Ltd. and the University of Windsor has resulted in the development of a cuttingedge scientific instrument for the discovery of new solid materials.

The system, called the High-Throughput Laboratory Powder Diffractometer, or LPD-HT uses x rays to rapidly test small amounts of such materials as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, minerals, and new nanomaterials.

The team, spearheaded by UWindsor chemistry and biochemistry Nick Vukotic, filed a provisional patent around the design of the new instrument in early 2022.

(Windsor, ON, Thursday, December 8, 2022) – The Board of Governors of the University of Windsor is pleased to announce the reappointment of Dr. Mary Jo Haddad to a second term as Chancellor.

Dr. Haddad was installed as the University of Windsor’s eighth chancellor during the spring 2019 Convocation ceremonies and has been a strong proponent of the importance of leadership throughout her first term.

She established the Chancellor’s Leadership Series to promote the importance of leadership in society and building capacity through scholarship and inspiration by engaging thoughtful leaders in Canada.

(Windsor, ON, Thursday, October 27, 2022) – Windsor Law School’s Class Action Clinic has received a $3.1 million award from the recent settlement of a $100-million class action lawsuit.

“This award to the Clinic is an important next step in Windsor Law’s rich history of upholding an access to justice mission for Canadians,” said Windsor Law dean Reem Bahdi.

“The Class Action Clinic at Windsor Law is the first clinic of its kind in North America” she said.
