EDID Week: I Have a Hero in You

Wednesday, March 19, 2025 - 14:00 to 15:30

Time: 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Format: In-person

Location: Freed Orman, Assumption Hall, University of Windsor

Description:

Gender-based violence is a silent epidemic, often hidden behind closed doors, and its devastating consequences can leave families searching for answers and waiting for change. In this deeply personal and interactive 90-minute session, we’ll explore how waiting for a hero—law enforcement, therapists, border officials, even loved ones—to intervene in acts of violence can lead to tragic outcomes. Through the story of my daughter, Sahra Bulle, whose life was cut short by gender-based violence, I will challenge us to rethink what it means to be a hero.

This session is a call to action for students, staff, and faculty: we must recognize our power to take a stand, hold systems accountable, and support those at risk. Together, we will reflect, connect, and leave inspired to be the heroes who can create a future free from violence.
