Signs and Symptoms (2014)

The Noiseborder Ensemble was invited to perform at the W.A.V.E.S. festival sponsored by the City of Windsor and presented in the Odette Sculpture Park in September 2014. For this event Sigi Torinus and Brent Lee created a new 15-minute piece for large chamber ensemble and video entitled Signs and Symptoms. The score is in several sections that feature different performers and blend simple chordal gestures with sounds creating through extended instrumental techniques. The video is largely comprised of still images of unusual road signs, both real and imaginary.
