Model United Nations

Join the MUN UWill Discover Model United Nations Competitive Team.

We aim to participate in the NMUN in Banff, Alberta, from November 23 - 29, 2025. If you are interested in competing for a spot on the executive team that travels to National Model United Nations events, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be UWindsor students enrolled at the time of travel.
  • Students must have participated in the UWill Discover project as a student-employee, presenter, podcaster, poster presenter, or event participant (STEMx, UWindsor UWill Discover MUN).
  • Beginning in June, students must be able to complete weekly team meetings and tasks (either online or in person).
  • Students must be willing to run a small MUN event at the University of Windsor in the fall of 2025.
  • Students must have demonstrated success working within teams.
Applications for the 2025 Model UN Team will open in the Spring 2025 semester. For more information, please contact Dr. Tim Brunet (tbrunet@uwindsor.ca).
Funding varies based on the availability of funds at the University of Windsor. Typically, students will co-fund their participation in the event. For example, students paid for their flights and food at the event last year.

Congratulations to Sona Regonda, our head delegate, for her work leading our team for both the Model United Nations event at UWindsor and Washington, DC.

National Model United Nations is the best experiential learning opportunity I've seen for leadership training, says Dr. Brunet.

The activities involve research, public speaking, writing, collaborating, diplomacy, adjusting listening positions, and having honest conversations about globally complex targets.
