Activity Update

Plans are in place for our Fall Semester 2024. A special thank you to all the instructors who are preparing upcoming classes.  We’re happy to be offering 10 wonderful courses starting Sept.15th.

Classes and Descriptions: A  Flyer is coming soon listing courses, dates, times and venues. Descriptions for all the courses will be on the accompanying pages.

Registration: We’d like to do most of our registrations  July 1-30.

phone 226-221-9686. Payment can be made at the first class.

Olde Sandwich Walk: Dave Garlick and Don Wilson will be taking our Olde Sandwich class on a walking tour Thursday May 9th  at 10:30 a.m. starting at the Duff-Baby Mansion. Lunch reservations have been made at Rock Bottom Restaurant for after the walk. Those who are not in the class or can’t make this date can do a similar tour beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday May 4th as part of the “Jane’s Walk” program.

Let’s Dance: Anne McCallum is adding a 5 week session starting April 29th. Open to everyone. A good opportunity to try this fun class. Email to register:  unicom@uwindsor.ca  Cost is $40.00.

Speaker Luncheon: We’re thrilled to announce that Wednesday May15th, Robert Franz, Director of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, will be making a presentation as part of our Speaker Luncheon Series. Our venue will be the L.A. Grill – a group favourite. A flyer with information will be coming very soon. We hope that many of you will be able to join us.

Scholarships: We’re happy to announce that 4 students have received scholarships from our UNI-COM Scholarship Program. Receiving $1,600 each were Peter Spanovic, Chadia Captan, Rividan Kazo and Gilles Ntore. We wish them all continued success in academic endeavours.

Stratford Trip: WURA is looking at a trip to the Stratford Festival with us. Info to come.
