The Lancer Leadership Fall Conference Speaking to Lead was an opportunity for students to hone their leadership skills whether they are current or aspiring student leaders.

Friday, September 22

6:00 pm Join us at the Iron Workers Local 700 Low Ropes Course to get hands-on training about leadership, teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills!

Special Guest Speakers

Dr. Shetina M. Jones currently serves as the University of Windsor’s Associate Vice President of Student Experience. A seasoned professional, Dr. Jones has a myriad of professional experiences that directly affect student engagement and experience.  She served as an Assistant Director, Senior Associate Director, Associate Director, and Dean of Students. In her various roles, she had direct oversight of Greek Life, Student Life, Student Housing, Religious Services, and the Office of Health and Wellness.   

 

A point of pride for Dr. Jones is being a native of Detroit, Michigan. Leisurely, Dr. Jones enjoys giving back through active membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated and by serving as Chairman of the Detroit Martin Luther King High School Academic Pathways and Advisory Board.  She additionally loves travelling and spending time with her family.   

 

Franklin H. Ezenwa is an author, speaker and IT professional. After graduating from Uwindsor with a great distinction, he landed his dream job at the time with IBM Canada where he continues to pursue his interest in technology. Franklin is extremely passionate about helping others to achieve their goals, live a life of purpose and fulfillment, and become their best versions; this was what sparked his interest in life coaching.

 

During his time at the university, he served as a student leader within different groups both on-campus as well as off-campus. These experiences helped to equip and prepare him for leadership positions he has been elected for in different settings outside of the university. He believes that great leaders lead by example and follow the slogan, “Do as I do, not as I say.”
