Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI)

EDI

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is committed to community, workplace, and learning environments that embrace and uphold the values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI) including gender and gender-identity, sexuality, and ethnicity. Furthermore, these are enhanced and enriched when diverse perspectives and experiences are recognized and respected, and all are able to fully and equitably participate. This commitment is underscored by UWindsor being a signatory to the Dimensions Program and Charter. In our Department we also hold that each member (i.e., student, staff, and faculty) has the right to be addressed in accordance with their personal identity (e.g., personal pro-nouns).

The University of Windsor sits on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, which includes the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie. We respect the longstanding relationships with First Nations people in this place in the 100-mile Windsor-Essex peninsula and the straits – les détroits – of Detroit.
