Chemistry
In this flexible program, you’ll be able to do research with our award-winning faculty and study abroad. You’ll find ample ways to practise your analytical testing skills, and develop as a professional with relevant industry specific hands-on experience.
Applied Chemistry Stream
Graduates of a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Chemical Laboratory Technology programs from a qualifying Ontario or equivalent College of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT) are eligible for admission to Honours Chemistry - Applied Chemistry Stream degree program. You’ll be able to engage, learn from and do research with our award-winning faculty.
Biochemistry
This is where chemistry comes to life. If you’re interested in the chemistry of DNA, proteins, and enzymes, as well as the fundamental relationships between chemistry and living organisms, you’ll find this program fascinating. You’ll be in a lab within weeks of starting school and have the chance to do research throughout the program.
Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences (Health Stream)
This program gives you a strong background in biomedical sciences, fundamental to health and medicine. You’ll be in a lab within the first two weeks of this program and get the chance to conduct undergraduate research with hands-on learning in courses like CURE. You’ll work alongside clinical researchers and medical professionals on the challenges of funding, project management, communication and other issues of cancer research.
Pharmacy Stream
The Biochemistry - Pharmacy Stream program is specifically designed to prepare you for a rewarding career in pharmacy, medicine, or advanced research in chemical and health sciences. This program provides clear direction for students passionate about pharmaceutical sciences, offering a solid foundation for pursuing careers in these fields. You will have the opportunity to gain experiential learning experience in the laboratories of leading researchers in modern drug discovery, drug delivery systems, controlled release mechanisms, and the therapeutic potential of natural health products, all available only within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Students can participate in thesis research and co-op/internship opportunities while engaging in cutting-edge projects. Graduates of the program will be well-prepared to continue their education in professional schools.
