Current in-room students moving to a different room for the Fall term will receive an email from the Facility Coordinator to notify them when their Fall 2024 room is ready.
Note: You will move to your new room assignment prior to September 1 move-In day; move-over dates may vary for each student.
Students will have 24-hours (1-day) to move over to their new room assignment once they've been notified by the Facility Coordinator

Extension Charges
Staying in Residence between terms
- Academic reason (staying in residence for Fall 2024) - $30/night or $195/week
- Extensions will only be approved for students who have been assigned a room for the Fall 2024 term and will be moving directly to their new room assignment
- $125 + applicable extension fee
Move Out Procedures
- Students are required to move out 24-hours after their last exam or by August 20, 2024, per the Residence License Agreement
- When you are packed, and ready to leave, complete an Express Check-out envelope and place key(s) inside, then seal the envelope
- Express check-out envelopes can be found in the lobby of Cartier Hall in a black mailbox by the student mailboxes.
- Place the envelope in the outgoing mail slot located under the mailboxes in Cartier Hall
- Charges will be posted to your UWinsite Student account if keys are not returned upon departure
- READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
- Items left behind will be considered not wanted and will be donated to a local charity
- Students must arrange with Canada Post to have their mail redirected.
- Mail will not be held, and will be returned to sender
- Students expecting packages are to contact Distribution Services
Residence does not provide on-site storage.
For your storage needs, we have provided some links of local companies to contact
- Clean your room and return furniture to original room setup
- Place all garbage in designated areas; do not leave in room
- Remove all contents from the refrigerator and clean the refrigerator, DO NOT UNPLUG
- Remove tape from ceilings, walls and doors
- Close your window
- Most importantly, LOCK YOUR ROOM DOOR!!
Charges will apply if:
- Extra Housekeeping is required in your room
- Key(s) are not returned in the Express Checkout Envelope
- Damage is noted in your room upon final inspection after move-out
- Any other issues or concerns as deemed appropriate by Residence staff
