Beyond my research, I sometimes see clients privately. If you are interested in any of the services described below or something related to these services, please feel free to contact me for more information. My registration as a Clinical Psychologist in the Province of Ontario includes Clinical Neuropsychology, School Psychology, and Clinical Psychology to client populations including children, adolescents, adults, and families.
I supervise within our Clinical Neuropsychology Service at the Psychological Services and Research Centre. This service provides neuropsychological assessments to a range of individuals.
I occasionally offer the 8-week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction in community settings. For example, I have had contracts to provide MBSR to two groups of educators and other school personnel in the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board. If you are an organization in the Windsor-Essex area (not necessarily related to education or work with families and children) that would like to offer this programming to your employess, please feel free to contact me. I do not offer this programming on an individual basis.
I provide a manualized therapy (this is "fancy Psychologist language" to describe therapies that have been shown to be effective in multiple scientific studies that have a manual to assist in designing sessions) for adolescents and young adults with ADHD. The focus of this therapy is identifying areas of strength and weakness in planning, organization, time utilization, and self-management. This therapy was originally developed by Mary Solanto and David Marks at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. I have found it to be very effective for individuals who are struggling in these areas, particularly university and college students. This is a private practice service and is payable in advance of beginning to 10-session program. Please contact me via email or phone to discuss if this program might be a good fit for you.
I work with parents of children with ADHD to address specific parenting concerns or child behaviour problems. Typically, I meet with a parent for 3-6 sessions in a one-on-one setting. The goal with these meetings is to define the problem area, generate possible strategies for changing the behaviour, and help the parent implement the strategies while monitoring whether or not the strategies are effective.
Currently, I am not doing any assessments. If you are looking for a clinical or neuropsychological assessment for your child (or another person of any age), I recommend contacting our Psychological Services and Research Centre at (519) 253-3000, ext. 7012.
