The OPUS Awards Banquet on Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Student Centre Alumni Auditorium, was a huge success with 21 award recipients and 100 guests. It was an exceptional gathering of OPUS's 30th annual awards celebration and for acknowledging those outstanding individuals who make our university a unique place and those students that lead the way to a successful future. Award honourees received a certificate plaque and other gifts from OPUS. The event included musical performances by pianist Adeniyi & singer Happy.
Guests at the event also viewed a video highlighting the organization’s 50-plus years of excellent services & advocacy for students. Special thanks to the event sponsors: Alumni Affairs & Donor Communication, WEST Windsor Inc., Office of the Provost & Vice President, Academic, Faculty of Law and the Office of Human Rights Equity and Accessibility. Thanks to the present and past OPUS Board members Ignite Students, Catering Services, Xay & Cherry from Public Affairs/Communications for their help and support in making this event a successful one, especially being back to gather in person. We were also grateful to all those who attended from the University of Windsor including UWindsor Vice-President Academic Dr. Patti Weir, Dr. Clinton Beckford, Vice President-Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Associate Vice President Student Experience Phebe Lam & Director of Centre for Teaching & Learning Erika Kustra. It was a pleasure having you all there and we are humbled to be a part of this wonderful university community.

The OPUS awards banquet in March was postponed due to the pandemic and the virtual ceremony for the 2020 award recipients took place on October 30, 2020.
Given the unpredictable context with COVID, it was challenging to find alternatives and finalize the format for our awards banquet that year during unusual times. We appreciate your patience in this process, and we thank those that joined us, to celebrate these amazing recipients. The 2020 award recipients are listed in the poster below.

The 26th Annual OPUS Awards Banquet on Fri. Mar. 23, 2018 at the Caboto Club was a huge success with 21 award recipients and 160 guests. It was an exceptional celebration of OPUS's 49 years of existence and for acknowledging those outstanding individuals who make our university a unique place and those students that lead the way to a successful future. Award honourees received a certificate plaque and other gifts from OPUS. The event included musical performances by UWINDSOR student Adeniyi Agbola and local musician Crissi Cochrane. There was a special visual presentation for the OPUS Executive Director Maryam Amalow for receiving the lifetime achievement award and for her 13 years of service to the organization. Maryam also received an appreciation award from GSS at their banquet on Mar. 22.
Guests at the event also viewed a video highlighting the organization’s involvement during the 2017-18 academic year. Dr. Alan Wildeman received a token of appreciation from the OPUS Board of Directors and Staff for his years of service as UWindsor President. Thanks to our event emcee Ronnie Haidar and congratulations on receiving an appreciation award. Special thanks to the event sponsors: Alumni Association, Green Shield, Campus Dental Centre, Student Awards/Financial Aid Office, TD Canada Trust and the Office of Human Rights Equity and Accessibility. Thanks to the Student Centre Pharmacy, Alumni Association, Campus Ministry, Campus Dental Centre, Mare Nostrum Restaurant, GSS, UWSA, ICNA Sisters of Windsor for donating some door prizes. Thanks to the OPUS Board members and Work Study Students for their help and support in making this event a successful one yet again. We were also grateful to all those who attended from the University of Windsor including UWindsor Vice-President Academic Dr. Douglas Kneale, Director of the Office of Human Rights Equity & Accessibility Kaye Johnson, Associate Vice President Student Experience Ryan Flannagan, Dean of Human Kinetics Dr. Michael Khan & Director of Food Services Dave McEwen. It was a pleasure having you all there and we are humbled to be a part of this wonderful university community.
