The Sheila Cameron Monthly Research Forums
The Monthly Research Forums at the Faculty of Nursing are named after Dr. Sheila Cameron in recognition of her many contributions to the Faculty of Nursing and the nursing community at large. Dr Cameron is the former director of the School of Nursing at the University of Windsor (1985-1995) and the former Dean of Graduate Studies and Research (1996-2005) at the University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She has been designated as a Professor Emerita, since her retirement in the summer of 2005. She completed her early nursing education in Scotland and England before coming to Canada in 1964. Her education continued at McMaster University (BA), the University of Detroit (MA, Nsg Ed) and Wayne State University (EdD). She was the first woman scholar to receive the title of University Professor in 1997. Her research has been funded by a range of external agencies in Canada and she has published extensively in National and International Nursing Journals for over 30 years. During her long service at the University of Windsor, Dr. Cameron left a significant impact on many people’s professional and personal growth. She continues to contribute to the University community in many different ways and continues her active research programs.
