Mr. Michael Palazzolo is a Jazz bassist and Instructor at SoCAMichael Palazzolo, Special Instructor, Jazz bass

Michael Palazzolo graduated from Wayne State University in 2013 with a degree in Jazz Studies. He has studied with Dan Pliskow, Paul Keller, Mike Karloff, Rodney Whitaker, and Rob Pifot. Michael plays regularly at the Jenuine Cigar Lounge with virtuoso violinist/guitarist/mandolinist Michele Ramo playing primarily traditional Brazilian music called “Choro” on Tuesdays. Mike is a part of the Modern CAP band (a nonet) where he continues to develop his arranging and playing around Detroit in local venues. He plays regularly at the historic Baker’s Keyboard Lounge on Sundays with the fabulous up-and-coming drummer Kayvon Gordon. Michael also plays electric bass in a wedding band where he is exposed to playing top 40 hits pop/rock/country/dance music/funk/disco music. From an early age, Michael was encouraged to play piano and therefore has a piano background too.

 

 

 

Marco Cian, Special Instructor, Music Production

Marco Cian is a music producer, audio engineer, musician, educator, and a Voting Member of the GRAMMY Academy. He currently produces music for TV/Film and artists, while also serving as a secondary teacher at Holy Names Catholic High School, where he oversees the music production program. Throughout his career, Marco has collaborated with numerous networks and artists producing music for Animal Planet, Bravo, BET, Big Ten Network, CNN, HGTV, Lifetime, MTV, NBC, Netflix, OWN, Oxygen, TBS, Tennis Channel, Travel Channel, E!, ESPNU, TV1, USA, and VH1. His notable work includes producing music for the 2016 Summer Rio Olympics, 2018 Winter Pyeongchang Olympics, NFL, MLB and NCAA March Madness broadcasts, Netflix's ‘Perfect Match’, Temptation Island, the films ‘Ride’ starring Bella Thorne and ‘Saint Death’, and artists Mansuki and GRAMMY-nominated rapper Twista. Marco continues to play an active role in the music industry as a music producer, mentor for emerging talent, and contributor to the GRAMMY Awards voting process.
