Congratulations to Professor Myra Tawfik, who has been appointed as a Senior Fellow by the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI). As a Senior Fellow, Professor Tawfik will spend the 2014-15 academic year with the think-tank's International Law Research Program in Waterloo, where she will lead a research project that explores strategies for the cost-effective and meaningful provision of intellectual property legal services for start-ups and entrepreneurs.

The Supreme Court of Canada released a decision on December 12 in which the Court provided a detailed discussion of the meaning of access to justice in the context of class action. In doing so, the Court cited a book edited by Prof. Kalajdzic. The book, "Accessing Justice: Appraising Class Actions Ten Years After Dutton, Hollick & Rumley", arose from a conference of the same name that Prof. Kalajdzic organized in 2011.
