UWindsor is discontinuing Google services (G-Suite for Education /Workspace for Education). The planned Google retirement started with the migration of email accounts to Outlook in 2020.
IT Services will finalize the retirement by deleting UWindsor Google accounts after April 30, 2022.
You are being asked to migrate any remaining files, documents, or data you want to keep from your UWindsor Google Drive by April 30, 2022.
The remaining files may include documents or data added to the UWindsor Google Drive after the migration in 2020 to Microsoft Outlook/OneDrive. An email was sent to your @uwindsor.ca account in 2020 indicating which files were migrated.

Move any files you would like to keep from your UWindsor Google Drive by April 30, 2022.

Unfortunately, you cannot transfer files directly into your UWindsor OneDrive using Google Takeout. You will have to download the data to your computer and upload files to your UWindsor OneDrive. Or you can transfer files to another cloud-storage platform like Dropbox, a non-UWindsor Google Drive, or a non-UWindsor OneDrive.

IT Services does not promote use of one cloud-based storage service over another. If you would like to stay with a familiar Microsoft platform, find information on their site. Please note you cannot use your @uwindsor.ca email address for this new Microsoft account.
This depends on the file types and the file volumes that you would like to migrate. While a few Google Docs will take a few minutes, larger files like slides or videos can take a while. Give yourself enough time to complete the migration or download.
You should review if your files were migrated into your folder of choice or have been downloaded. You can leave your Google Drive as-is and the IT Services team will delete the content. This could take up to a few weeks after April 30, 2022.
