Step 1: Plan in Advance (3-6 months before TRV Expires)
- Attend one of the entry visa extension workshops
- Make sure the study permit is valid for desired length of new TRV
- Make an appointment on mysuccess with our International Student Advisor and learn how to apply for the TRV from inside Canada
Step 2: Preparation (3-6 months before TRV Expires)
- Gather Academic documents from Registrar’s Office (CELD for ELIP students)
- Gather financial documents from banks, parents, and sponsors
- Create MYCIC account
- Fill out online questionnaires and application form (Templates are available at ISC)
- Scan all supporting documents
Step 3: Review & Submit Application (3-6 months before TRV Expires)
- Make an appointment on mysuccess with our International Student Advisor to review the application package
- Upload application forms and supporting documents
- Pay & submit the application
- Save a copy of the application form and supporting documents for your future reference
- Save a copy of your application confirmation
Step 4: Application Status (approximately 2-4 weeks after online submission)
- Wait for a notification from IRCC that requests for you to submit Passport.
- Submit your passport by mailing it to the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa.
- Contact IRCC call centre (1-888-242-2100) for the application update if it takes longer than regular processing time
- Make an appointment on mysuccess with our International Student Advisor if application is rejected or additional documents are required
