Many Indian students will find that the surname on their passports has been left blank. In Canada, all documents will require the surname of the students and if there is none, the given name will be considered as the last name. All of your Canadian documents reflect your passport, so it is a good idea to separate the first and last name. The following steps will guide you to apply for a new passport through the Indian Consulate in Toronto or Brampton.
