Health and Wellness Reminders;
Fall & winter are a time to keep in mind best practices for preventing illnesses. Members of the University community all have a responsibility to mitigate the risk of spreading illness in the workplace.
Reminders for Illness prevention:
- Self-monitor for illness. Immunizations are an effective way to reduce your risk and prevent the spread of illnesses.
- Wash your hands often or use an alcohol based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Clean and disinfect commonly used surfaces.
Employee Responsibilities:
- If you are ill and potentially contagious, stay home and report this to your Supervisor without delay and seek medical care if required.
- Employees are to follow the Ontario guidelines regarding staying home when ill and complete the self-assessment found here: https://www.ontario.ca/self-assessment/
- The employee will confirm with their Supervisor the instructions for their return to work per the self-assessment above (e.g. isolation, masking, etc.).
- When symptoms are improving and you are able to return to campus, wash your hands frequently and follow guidance from the Ontario guidelines, above.
