Student Groups

A team of mechanical engineering students holding rocket.Enrich your academic journey by joining a student team and gain additional hands-on experience employers seek. Our student groups compete regularly in numerous engineering competitions, such as the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International's Collegiate Design Series held all over North America and Elon Musk’s international SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition. In 2019, our Hyperloop team made it to the finals in its first year competing and received a shout-out from the prime minister on Twitter and a chance to pick Elon Musk’s brain while competing in California.

Our diverse range of groups includes an extremely active Engineering Student Society that hosts various social and professional development events throughout the year and a Women in Engineering Club that reinforces a diverse and accepting environment.

Our student-led teams are constantly evolving and change from year to year. Find a group that interests you, form a new team or reinvigorate a dormant one to make the most of your #UWindsorENG experience.
