This year, Canada’s engineering community marks a monumental milestone—celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Iron Ring. Introduced in 1925, the Iron Ring has become one of the most recognized symbols in engineering, representing skill, humility, responsibility, and ethical practice. For engineers, it serves as a constant reminder of the integrity required to navigate the challenges of their profession.
As we reflect on a century of the Iron Ring’s legacy, we honour its profound influence on the profession, shaping engineers who prioritize the greater good of society above all else. Thousands of graduates have worn the Iron Ring, each carrying with them the weight of its responsibilities and its call to uphold the highest standards in engineering.
At the University of Windsor, we are incredibly proud of the contributions made by our alumni, who have shaped industries and societies both locally and globally. From groundbreaking innovations to inspiring leadership, our engineers continue to drive progress, and the Iron Ring symbolizes their commitment to these ideals. As we celebrate this remarkable anniversary, we also take a moment to highlight the exceptional contributions of UWindsor’s Engineering alumni.
This edition of Windsor Engineering is dedicated to the incredible individuals who exemplify the values of the Iron Ring. We are proud to feature the stories of 14 distinguished UWindsor alumni who have excelled in their respective fields and made a lasting impact on the world around them.
WE Magazine is distributed annually to alumni, students, faculty, staff, and industrial/community partners of the faculty. This edition will be distributed electronically to align with our dedication to the environment.
As the Dean of Engineering, I look forward to connecting with you all. I encourage you to introduce yourselves on LinkedIn or contact me at deanengg@uwindsor.ca.
