A teacher-to-teacher analysis of Twitter, a social networking platform with more educational uses than you may imagine. There's a large open education community on Twitter, making it great for 24/7 teacher PD and network-building, but teachers and students can also use it together to share short messages, links, or videos, WITHOUT having to “friend” each other. It can be a great tool to scaffold positive online engagement and support differentiated learning! Twitter use also offers hands-on practice in responsible public communication and engagement.

2024 Update: Twitter was officially re-named X in July 2023. Its centrality as an educational networking space has dwindled as it Terms of Service have shifted, and it no longers screens/moderates content.
