UWindsor Sponsorship Policy

1.0 Introduction:

1.1 When units of the University of Windsor enter into sponsorship and advertising arrangements with outside organizations, they may wish to acknowledge this support on a website page.

2.0 Intent:

2.1 This policy is intended to ensure consistent and appropriate website exposure for outside sponsors on website pages. Sponsorship acknowledgement is not permitted on the UWindsor.ca home page.

3.0 Sponsorship Requirements:

3.1 Sponsorship is understood to be: when an organization pays some or all of the costs involved in staging an event in return for advertising.

3.2 Sponsorship may only be granted to those organizations and companies that are permitted by provincial law to promote their products and services to those under the age of 18.

3.3 In the absence of a formal sponsorship policy, the financial value of the sponsorship, and the associated amount of exposure on the website will be determined by the two consenting parties, with consultation from the Advancement department.

3.4 Sponsorship agreements are limited-time arrangements with specific start and end dates.

4.0 Sponsorship Standards for the Web:

OPTION 1:

4.1 Sponsorship recognition may be acknowledged by a button or an image with a header that displays “Sponsors” or “Our Sponsors.”

4.1.1 The button displays a rotation of multiple logos at a pace that does not cause a distraction on the page.

4.1.2 The logo serves as a hotlink to a new window as determined by the sponsor. The original website is still visible under the new window.

4.1.3 The placement of the logo button must appear more than halfway down the webpage, above the scroll line on the right side of a standard screen. The size of this button must not exceed 100 pixels by 100 pixels. This button must not be larger in proportion than the other buttons listed.

OPTION 2:

4.2 Sponsorship recognition may be acknowledged in the vertical menu bar with a header that displays “Sponsors” or “Our Sponsors.”

4.2.1 Clicking on the menu header takes you to a page listing partnership logos.

4.2.2 The logo serves as a hotlink to a new window as determined by the sponsor. The original website is still visible under the new window.

4.2.3 The placement of “Sponsors” or “Our Sponsors” menu header must appear at the bottom of the vertical list and must not be larger in proportion than the other menu headings.
