UWindsor visual arts professor emerita Susan Gold Smith will discuss her work and practice in an informal walk through her exhibition “Interior Decoration,” Saturday, March 1, at SB Contemporary Art.
She will be discussing aspects of her creative process, past and present, as well as ideas and themes expressed in her overall practice.
The event begins at 1 p.m. in the gallery, located at 1017 Church Street.

Director Tory James has put together a “wonderful cast” drawn from the campus and surrounding community for a staged reading of Santaland Diaries by David Sedaris, tonight—Friday, December 7.
“We have a great group this year,” says James, a photographer in the Centre for Teaching and Learning. “And you can’t go wrong with this material. I guarantee that people will be laughing until they cry.”

Four artists with ties to the University of Windsor’s School of Visual Arts have teamed up to open a working studio in the city’s downtown.
Alumni Arturo Herrera (BFA 2011), Collette Broeders (BFA 2009) and Alana Bartol (BFA 2004) and professor Susan Gold Smith have established their collective enterprise at 110 Park Street West, in the base of Victoria Park Place.
“We were all looking for studio space and we all wanted a space where we were in close contact with other artists—where we could be stimulated by the creative energy of others,” says Bartol.
Friends and colleagues of visual arts professor Susan Gold Smith are invited to celebrate her retirement at Fluxing Forward, Thursday, April 19, at Phog Lounge.
Gold Smith is a former director of the School of Visual Arts. Her art has been exhibited in world capitals from New York to London, Copenhagen to Berlin, and she has contributed as a curator to galleries, conferences, and international exhibitions. In 2010, she received an Arts Leadership Award from the Windsor Endowment for the Arts.
