Bearing the message “Here We Grow—another UWindsor improvement is underway,” new signs installed across campus will alert passersby to construction works, says Susan Mark, executive director of Facility Services.

“We have a number of projects on the go, from the temporary parking lot on the former Cody Hall site to the redesign of the Student Centre Courtyard,” Mark says. “We wanted a way to alert the University community that while the loss of access may pose a temporary inconvenience, it will soon result in tangible benefits for us all.”

The London Olympics are just around the corner. Did you know that UWindsor alumni were part of the only Canadian basketball team to ever win a medal at the Games? Or that Lancer track athlete Melissa Bishop (BHK 2010, B.Ed 2011) will compete for Team Canada in London?

Members of the UWindsor community looking for images to use on their Web sites and publications have a new resource available to them: a searchable database of photographs depicting campus life.

“It’s still very much in development, but we’re ready for people to start checking it out,” says Rob Aitkens, a graphic designer in public affairs who manages the Image Library. “It is being continually updated as we work through our photo archives.”

The University of Windsor is bringing student service to a new level with a mobile app to help students do everything from check their grades to find a place to eat on campus – all in the palm of their hands.

Compatible with iPhone, BlackBerry and Android technology, the myUWindsor app provides mobile access to all the web-based services and information students would typically access on the University’s home page, through the student portal and the Collaboration and Learning Environment Windsor (CLEW) learning management system.
