Lancer soccer and football teams scored big wins this weekend.
The Lancer football team secured a 3-0 record to open the season—its best start since 2006—with a 63-4 trouncing of the Warriors in Waterloo on Saturday.
Quarterback Austin Kennedy passed for 141 yards including a touchdown each to Dallas Boow, Mark Carter and Scott McEwen as part of a total 654 yards in offense. Kennedy is just eight touchdown passes away from the Ontario University Athletics career record. Windsor’s rushing leaders included Nigel Applewhaite with 166 yards and two touchdowns, Nick Vincent with 85 yards and two touchdowns, and Beau Lumley with 114 yards.
The International Student Centre’s new space on the second floor of Laurier Hall is “awesome,” says Yousef Abdullah Aldakhelallah.
“It will be very welcoming to students – the old location does not compare,” said the native of Saudi Arabia, currently enrolled in the English Language Improvement Program, as he helped carry some small boxes into the new offices Friday.
The centre has vacated its long-time home in Cody Hall, which is slated for demolition next summer.
